Dead and Gone

Dead and Gone (Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire Mystery, Book 9) Dead and Gone by Charlaine Harris

My review

rating: 5 of 5 stars
I ran through this book so fast it didn't even make it to my "Currently Reading" shelf. What an amazing ride. This series, which I admit to being somewhat skeptical of liking initially, just keeps getting better and better. Book 9 is much more of an emotional rollercoaster than most of the others, and it leaves you waiting impatiently for another installment. My only complaint? It was too damn short.

The Black Unicorn

The Black Unicorn (Magic Kingdom of Landover, Book 2) The Black Unicorn by Terry Brooks

My review

rating: 4 of 5 stars
This installment of the Landover series was better than I remembered it. I read it for the first time many years ago, but I enjoyed it far more this time. Willow and Strabo are just excellent characters, and the story, while a little formulaic like most of Brooks's tales, is still a fun ride. Once I've finished reading a couple of other titles, I'll move on to book 3 in this series.
